Technology driven innovation
PTC is known for its innovative character. It focuses heavily on technology-driven innovation in Creo's robust and scalable solutions that will make a difference for your business.
Model-Based Definition
Dimension and annotate your 3D models with Creo. Increase collaboration throughout your organisation with a single source of truth for engineering, production, quality, and your customers and suppliers.
What is a model-based definition (MBD)
A model-based definition is a method to creating 3D models so that these contain all data needed to define a product. With MBD, the model becomes the data source that drives all technical activities. This model can be used further downstream by suppliers and between departments within a company.
Why use a model-based definition (MBD)
For years, engineers used 2D drawings to provide information for production, even when designing models in 3D. Now, using model-based definition methods, engineers integrate product data directly into the 3D models, which creates a single, reliable source of truth for all inside and outside the company that prevents errors and saves everyone time.
Additive Manufacturing
Innovative designs in less time. Optimise and validate your designs and then perform a print check - all in one environment.
Using Creo additive manufacturing, you develop innovative designs with ease, optimise, and print on various printers - all within Creo. You reduce time-to-market and costs with rapid prototyping and parts consolidation without the time-consuming, error-prone hassles of multiple software packages.
Creo additive manufacturing extensions offer enhanced lattice capabilities with the Delaunay stochastic algorithm and hard edge definition. This provides lattice modelling, print tray optimisation, and metal printing with supporting structures.
Innovate faster with Generative Design
Deliver your best designs in less time with Creo's generative design solution. Find out how generative design helps your engineers create optimised designs based on a range of technical and operational requirements with faster design iterations, automated design workflows, and increased test speed.
What is Generative Design
Generative design is a 3D CAD solution that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to autonomously create optimal designs based on a set of system design requirements. Engineers can interactively specify their requirements and goals, including preferred materials and production processes. The generative engine will then automatically create a production-ready design as a starting point or final solution. This means that engineers can use the technology to create superior designs and drive product innovation.
Generative Design added value
The benefits of generative design are visible from concept and simulation to the production phase from reducing product weight to consolidating parts and shortening the time to market.
Creo's generative design extensions are fully integrated into the CAD/PLM/simulation environment. Other software solutions require the import and export of load cases and geometry. PTC's solution is fully integrated into Creo and is a seamless part of any design workflow from concept to simulation to production.
Groundbreaking simulation and analysis solutions
Use Creo for all your analysis issues and benefit from the easy set-up and execution of the most complex simulations that help solve design problems.
Whether you are an engineer or analyst, Creo offers solutions to meet your needs. You can use the range of solutions to test the stresses and strains your product will encounter. Some of our solutions provide design optimisations. Other solutions provide an extensive range of features that help you analyse and validate the performance of your 3D virtual prototypes.
Real-time feedback on your design decisions
With Creo Simulation Live, you receive immediate feedback on your design decisions within your CAD environment while you work. You no longer have to guess how your design might perform under real-world conditions. You iterate rapidly and incorporate as many design changes as you prefer and thus enjoy the confidence that you make the best-informed decisions.
From idea to finished product and service
The unlimited scalability of Creo solutions means you can easily add new users, modules, and capabilities as your business and related functional requirements continue to grow.
Concept & Detailed Development
Creo offers integrated solutions within the concept and detailed design. This eliminates the need to recreate your design, so you can switch seamlessly between different tools within the same environment. This saves time, which allows you to spend more time exploring different concepts.

You need certain tools to produce your products and machines during the production process, such as moulds, manipulators, and measuring tools. These tools are often so specific that they require their own – sometimes very complex – designs that must be perfectly adjusted to the production specifications of your end product. The main challenge here is when the design of your end product changes. The impact on the design of your tools can be massive, which jeopardises deadlines.
Creo tackles these challenges with specialised software for tool design and the 100% associativity within the package. Save time and minimise errors by starting with the design of your end product and then building your production tools based on it.

Manufacturing
Do you use lathes? Do you mill 3, 4, or 5 axes simultaneously? Increasingly complex products and production strategies are massive challenges when programming CNC machines. Milling complex 3D surfaces with 3-, 4-, or 5-axis simultaneous strategies and combined turning and milling on several spindles and with different tools simultaneously are complex production methods. These are practically impossible to program manually or using machine controls.
The Creo family of manufacturing solutions enable you to program your CNC machine tools offline (turning, milling up to 5 axes simultaneously, combined turning and milling, laser cutting, etc.). This functionality is 100% integrated within the Creo CAD module. The integration is fully associative, meaning any design change is automatically reflected in all derived applications and documents without the need to translate design information. This saves time and, more importantly, prevents potential design errors. The manufacturing tools also include modules to prepare for production, such as the design of injection moulding plates and blanking dies. Even production control for cabling is possible using the harness manufacturing module.
