What exactly does your job entail?

As a Senior Technical Consultant, my primary focus is the installation, upgrading, and troubleshooting of Windchill environments. This requires extensive knowledge of Windows, network configurations, web technology, Oracle and SQL databases, Apache, Active Directory, Azure, SSL and, of course, Windchill itself. All of this is closely linked to other packages such as PTC Creo, SolidWorks, Arbortext, and various ERP systems. And then, the PTC program itself is even broader, with IoT, AR, and ThingWorx.

I have not yet come close to reaching the limits of our portfolio, but one thing is certain: Working with PTC products means that I am always working with state-of-the-art technology.

What do you like about your job at Innoptus?

The companies we work for make extremely nice, high-end products that fascinate me. These include milking robots, agricultural automation, passenger transport buses, egg sorting machines, energy storage systems, satellite components, gearboxes for luxury cars...

The customer environments range from 5 to 500 users. An upgrade or modification to the system becomes just that little bit more exciting, especially in the latter category. For more performance-related problems or functional issues, on the other hand, it is important to search through log files, to break open pieces of software to understand how they work and, above all, to dig through PTC's extensive knowledge base.

So, it remains a very challenging job, and I discover something new every day. No two days are ever the same.
