Innoptus Solar Team and 4ITEGO Group Extend Partnership with New World Championship Goal in Australia

Breda, 23 September 2026 – The 4ITEGO Group has extended its partnership as the main sponsor of the Innoptus Solar Team for another two years. As a result, the engineering students of KU Leuven can continue to rely on the technology and guidance provided by group companies Innoptus and Infinite Simulation Systems as they pursue their next major objective: becoming world champions in Australia for the third time.

Four Strong Years

The collaboration between the 4ITEGO Group and the Belgian Solar Team has a long history and evolved into a main partnership in 2023. At that time, the team adopted the name Innoptus, while the solar cars have since carried the name Infinite. Since then, the partnership has been built on mutual trust and expertise.

The students benefit from the technological know-how and support of the 4ITEGO Group. In return, the experts at Innoptus and Infinite Simulation Systems trust the team to make the most of these technologies through ambition, entrepreneurship, and technical excellence.

The past four years have become one of the strongest periods in the team’s history. In 2023, the students secured their second world championship title at the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge in Australia. A year later, they claimed overall victory in the SASOL Solar Challenge in South Africa, followed by the European title at the iLumen European Solar Challenge. This summer brought another milestone. With the Infinite Apollo, the team won the Electrek American Solar Challenge, covering more than 4,000 kilometers from Minneapolis to Amarillo and becoming the first European team ever to win the event.

From Software to Faster Decisions

The technological support provided by the 4ITEGO Group plays a key role in the development of the solar vehicles. The students use PTC Creo+ CAD software to design vehicle concepts and Windchill+ to manage product data and engineering changes. Ansys is used to simulate aerodynamic designs, allowing engineers to virtually evaluate multiple design options before building physical components.

These solutions shorten development cycles, reduce the number of physical prototypes, and help the team make better-informed engineering decisions, resulting in a faster and more efficient solar car.

The partnership goes far beyond providing software licenses. Experts from Innoptus and Infinite Simulation Systems share their knowledge with the students and help them use the available technologies as effectively as possible. This gives students access not only to advanced engineering tools but also to the practical experience of professionals who work with these technologies every day.

The collaboration provides students with the opportunity to explore new technologies, develop innovative solutions, and once again push the boundaries of engineering.

For the 4ITEGO Group, the partnership is also an investment in the future. Through close cooperation with a team of ambitious engineering students, the group contributes to the development of the next generation of technical talent.

The coming months will therefore be fully dedicated to one goal. A completely new solar car will be developed to line up at the start in Darwin in August 2027 and bring the world championship title back to Leuven.
